The event is around the corner--15 more days! Consignee's, how is the tagging and pricing going? Are you having fun cleaning out your items? Remember, shoes, jewelry, great condition men and women clothes; pj's, active wear, business attire, casual, dresses...etc.!
Have you RSVPed for the Presale Event? We are raffling off a fantastic gift. Bring friends, have a blast!
Have you told all your friends about the event? Remember the more people that know the more money YOU are going to make by selling your items.
Great news, Seattle Times is going to run another article about the event. We are working on many other media outlets. If you have any suggestions please let us know.
If you know of a place to drop off flyers let us know. We are happy to get them to you. Do you live in an apartment or condo complex? Do you attend college? Is there an event board at your office? Can you hang a tear-sheet flyer? If so, let us know and we'll email you with it.
We hope you are having fun with our event so far, we sure are!
Let us know if you have any questions about anything.

Giving Feels Good
The definition of charity..."Love; universal benevolence; good will."
The founders and volunteers at Smartie Pants believe in universal love, good will and serving our community. We hope you will join us in making the difference in the lives of many. Our charity groups focus primarily on women and homeless teens.
The winter months are approaching fast, let's unite as a community and fill the closets of our charity organization.
We are proud to be a part of the organizations we are working with. Read about them below.
Seattle Children's Hospital Thrift Stores support uncompensated care at Seattle Children’s Hospital and help ensure that the best medical care will always be available to the children of our region. When you visit one of our six thrift stores you'll find a wide selection of quality new and used merchandise at fair prices. Best of all, you'll know your purchases will benefit the children who rely on Children's for their care.
Seattle Children’s Redmond Thrift Store 15137 NE 24th (Overlake Square) Redmond, WA 98052 p: 425/746-3092
Jubilee Women’s Center provides women a safe and supportive place to live and an opportunity to learn while becoming self-reliant in housing and employment. They have been providing transitional housing for women since 1983. Jubilee has an onsite free clothing boutique open by appointment to all women. Jubilee relies on the community for clothing donations to keep the boutique full. Smartie Pants has been donating clothes to this boutique for the past four years!
Jubilee Women's Center 620 18th Ave East Seattle, WA 98112 p: 206.324.1244
Rising out of the Shadows: ROOTS delivers critical services to homeless young adults and other low income persons, advocates for policies that foster dignity and long-term solutions, and works toward building community partnerships. This amazing organization provides shelter and clothing to homeless young adults. It relies heavily on donations. Let’s help them keep their closets full.

Our first event was a huge success! We had several consignee's, 100's of clothing items including handbags, shoes and jewels, lots of shoppers, amazing volunteers, a beautiful space and most importantly, we donated (55) fifity-gallon trash bags of clothing items to our charities--amazing, huh?

Smartie Pants special thanks to our consignee's...
Smartie Pants Consignee's:
We wanted to thank you for being a part of our first Smartie Pants public community event! We hope you enjoyed being a part of our event, we definitely enjoyed meeting and getting to know all of you. Many of you went above and beyond in spreading the word about our event, we can't thank you enough....we are in awe of the energy and excitement for this event. For those of you that ALSO volunteered, wow...amazing!
Our goal was to put on a community event with fabulous women--we not only believe we accomplished just that, we believe we BIG TIME accomplished our goal. Each of you made this event special, thank you for playing with us and making this fun!
We want our next event to be even better, so please share your feedback with us. We hope you will join us in the fall...next event will be mid to late September, stay tuned for more details. We hope to host it at the same location.
As promised, we will put checks in the mail within two weeks. If you did not sell anything, please know what a huge contribution you made to our charities; ROOTS, Jubilee Women's Center and Children's Research all received over twenty 50 gallon trash bags full of clothes EACH. They were all thrilled. We will be giving Eastside Domestic Violence a cash donation. We ALL did a very good thing...thank you for your part of this special contribution to our community.
Cheers!

Smartie Pants Presale Event...
Here's the deets...
Smartie Pants had their Exclusive Presale Event for consignee's and volunteer's last night. It was so neat to see it all in action. We talked to people about the charities we are working with, we talked to women about loving their bodies at the very size they are, we had our hubby's telling women "yes ... or heck no" on this or ...that, women purchased gap, j-crew, lauren merkin all the way to prada...we have AH-MAZING volunteers and even had our first "off the street" customer.
We are headed to Seattle now...OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, come shop and support your local women's charity groups!! 9-5pm, www.smartiepantsevents.com
